Planters Prayer of Saint Isadore

St. Isidore, St. Isidore,
To you we rogate, to you we implore:
Please let it (or not) shine or pour,
Bring on the bee, hold off the hoar;

Coax the oat, swell the meat
Of grape and nut;
encourage the wheat
To ripen fat in August heat
Then lay down, brown, for us to beat

And bag in burlap with quadruple X's
Haul to the mill with stone-ground reflexes,
Enliven the staff of both the sexes
By stuffing them full of B complexes;

Sweeten the soil's sour grievance.
Correct the mustard's feckles malfeasance,
Raise up the corn in rows of allegiance,
Bow down the cherry in fruitful obesiance;

O Guardian of squash and tendrilled pea,
Hoeing away at sanctity,
All ills of bud and vine and lea,
But mostly our garden, remedy.

Prayer of Saint Columba for Gods Light

O Lord,

grant us that love which can never die,
which will enkindle our lamps
but not extinguish them,
 so that
they may shine in us
and bring light to others.
Most dear Saviour,
 enkindle our lamps
that they may shine
forever in your temple.

May we receive unquenchable light
from you
so that our darkness
will be illuminated
 and the darkness of the world
will be made less.

Another St. Columba Prayer:
Mouth of the dumb,  Light of the blind,  Foot of the lame,  To the fallen stretch out your hand.  Strengthen the senseless,  Restore the mad  O Columba, hope of Scots,  By your merits' mediation.  Make us companions of the blessed angels.
{This is an early 14th century prayer}

Saint Bridget Prayer

O Jesus!
I remember the simple and humble
recommendation You made of Your Soul
to Your Eternal Father, saying;

"Father, into Your Hands I commend My Spirit,"

and when, Your Body all torn
Your Heart broken, You expired.

By this precious death,
I beg You to comfort me
and give me help to resist the devil,
the flesh and the world, so that,
being dead to the world,
I may live for You alone.

I beg of You at the hour of my death to receive me.

Amen.

PRAYER TO SAINT JOACHIM AND SAINT ANNE

Great and glorious patriarch,
St Joachim, and good St Anne,
what joy is mine when I consider
that you were chosen among all God’s holy ones
to assist in the fulfillment of the mysteries of God,
and to enrich our earth
with the great Mother of God,
Mary most holy.

By this singular privilege,
you have become most powerful
with both the Mother and her Son,
so as to be able to obtain for us the graces
that are needful to us.

With great confidence I have recourse
to your mighty protection,
and I commend to you all my needs,
both spiritual and temporal,
and those of my family.

Especially do I entrust to your keeping
the particular favour that I desire
and look for from your intercession.

Since you were a perfect pattern of the interior life,
 obtain for me the grace to pray earnestly,
and never to set my heart
on the passing goods of this life.
Give me a lively and enduring love
for Jesus and Mary.

Obtain for me also
a sincere devotion and obedience to God,
in order that I may live and die
in faith and hope and perfect charity.

Let me ever invoke the holy Names
of Jesus and Mary, and may I thus be saved.

 Amen.

Parents Prayer to St. Anne

We call upon you dear Saint Anne,
for help in bringing up our family in good and godly ways.

Teach us to trust God our Father
as we rear the precious heritage entrusted to us.

May His will prevail in our lives,
and His providence defend us.

These blessings we ask for all families,
in our neighborhood, our country and our world.

AMEN
